About Me

Posted on August 24th, 2007 in Open Discussion by admin

I was born March 1971 in Long Beach, CA where I grew up. I currently live in Bellflower, CA. I am an IFBB Professional Bodybuilder and Personal Trainer. I started working out mid 1991 and began serious training after joining Gold’s Gym in Long Beach in 1992 which is where I met my husband (now my ex-husband). Working out with him I learned how to train properly and started seeing my body transform which led me to competing a year later in 1993. I never really thought of becoming a bodybuilder…although I do remember back how much I did admired the girls on American Gladiators and made jokes about looking like them one day….ha who would’ve thought.

Moving right along, I hit the national level stage in 1996 at USA in Long Beach, CA which began the quest for my pro card. I captured the Lightweight title 2 times at the USA in 1997 and 1999 but lost the overall to the heavyweight. After that I decided I would try to get my pro card at the Nationals instead but I lost my 100% mental focus going into the show I let my homelife problems get the best of me and I got 8th place after that I didn’t compete again until 2001 at the National’s in Atlanta Georgia as a Middleweight instead winning the class and my Pro card only to disappear again from the bodybuilding scene.

Due to my ongoing personal issues…let’s just call it “marriage”. I didn’t work out for 2 years (2002 & 2003) crazy isn’t it?? In 2004 I began making changes in my life for the better. My husband & I seperated & I started working in a gym with my friend Big Mike which is where I started working out again but not hard core just yet. I got serious again when I started training with my friend Keith whose helped me out alot with my training and everything else in my life. With his help and motivation I finally made a return back on stage after 5 years making my Pro Debut where I didn’t place as well as I thought I should’ve at the 2006 Atlantic City Pro Show but I realize I need to pay my dues again..it’s all good.

This year I focused on taking care of things that needed to get done. I plan on competing again in 2008. I currently train about 4-5 days a week splitting my cardio of 45-60 mins on the treadmill in the morning. I also do a little pilates maybe once a week as well as teach it. I also take some kickboxing/MMA (Multi Martial Art) conditioning classes 1-2 times a week instructed by my friend Mavrick a cage fighter…class is no joke it totally kicks my butt and it feels great. I am trying to mix things up a bit and look forward to see how this really effects my overall health and my physique. As pre-contest training comes around my program will switch up a bit.

Please stay tuned for more info. on me and what’s to come. Please feel free to send me any questions you may have..you fans are my fuel and motivation.
